CALL FOR ABSTRACT

The Seminar on Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management 2022 (SIRKM'22) welcomes all researchers to share their ongoing research and provide an opportunity to share their work. SIRKM'22 aims to encourage knowledge sharing by providing a platform for interactive discussions with experts in information retrieval, knowledge management, and its related fields. It also hopes to encourage community-building by connecting early and advanced researchers. SIRKM'22 is jointly organised by the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Society of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management, Malaysia (PECAMP) and ASEAN Workshop on Information Science and Technology (AWIST).

SIRKM’22 invite both local and international researchers to submit extended abstracts of current research being undertaken on the following topics (but not limited to):

  • 1. Information Retrieval [IR]: Information Seeking and Behaviour, Search interfaces, Search Engine, Semantic Technology, IR Applications.

  • 2. Knowledge Management [KM]: Ontology, Decision Support System, Business Intelligence, Knowledge Innovation, Knowledge Sharing.

  • 3. Data Science [DS]: Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Analytics and its Application, Sentiment Analysis, Natural Language Processing.

  • 4. Information Visualisation [IV]: Virtual and Augmented Reality Technology, Multimedia Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, Computer Vision.

  • 5. Others: Cyber Security, Emerging ICT Application, Mobile Technology Applications, Internet of Things, Industrial Computing.

Presenters have the following opportunities for full paper publications:

  • >> Journal of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management (JIRKM)
  • >> Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia (APJITM)

*AWIST DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

SIRKM'22 also offered AWIST Doctoral Consortium (Session 3) as an opportunity for PhD students to present, explore and develop their research interests. We invite students who would appreciate feedback on their dissertation research and want to increase its visibility to apply for this unique opportunity to share and discuss their work with a panel of distinguished researchers in the field. Ideal candidates will be mid-way through their program, meaning they have a clear topic and research approach, with some concrete progress but also sufficient time remaining in their program to consider integrating suggestions and new ideas.

*ASEAN Workshop on Information Science and Technology (AWIST)

PhD students from FTSM UKM who presented in AWIST Doctoral Consortium will be exempted from Student Progress Seminar 2022 (applies to all centers-CYBER/CAIT/SOFTAM).

PUBLICATION

Accepted and presented papers will be published as a e-proceedings with eISBN.

BEST PAPER AWARD

SIRKM'22 will have the Best Paper Award for each track, which will be announced and bestowed at the seminar closing session.
