The Knowledge Technology (KT) research group focussed on research relating to machine processable semantics and the used of semantic technology in various advance applications. We explore methods for transforming information and data into meaningful knowledge in such a way that machines can understand its meanings. We develop applications based on the aforementioned representations to support intelligence and interoperability. As such the focus of KT research group related to many research and application fields in computer science such as artificial intelligence and ontology engineering, semantic web, natural language processing and information retrieval. The domain we are currently working on is in digital library, e-learning and health informatics. Among the research conducted by our research group are semantic search, ontology construction from text, semantic digital library, ontology based health information system and statistical Malay parser.
