About

Akmal Aris is a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FTSM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He is in the Knowledge Technology (KT) research group and a member of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Technology (CAIT).

He received her Master in Information Technology from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, (2014) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Juhana Salim and Prof. Dr. Shahrul Azman. His Master thesis was titled “A Framework for Development of Experts ICT Ontology Using Taxonomy, Thesaurus and Domain Experts Approach”. He holds BSc in Computer Science (2005) and Diploma of Information Technology (2002) from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

His main research interests are in the areas of Information Retrieval (IR), Knowledge Management, Web Development and Mobile Computing.

This course offered for students to equip them with fundamental skills in web programming. This course will introduce students to the concept and techniques of designing and creating web pages by using HTML/XHTML and CSS. Students will be taught to use various tools to organize, retrieve, store and distribute information via web. Tools such as Dreamweaver and web-based scripting languages such as JavaScript will be used to develop dynamic and interactive web pages. The used of Java Applets, Flash and Shockwave will also be explored. Student will be introduced to the client-server design of dynamic pages using the programming language Hypertext PreProcessor (PHP) And MySQL database technology. Other relevant issues within the niche such as principle of designing web pages, designing interactive web, document design, graphics, text, interface and link between the documents will be emphasized. At the end of the course, students will demonstrate their understanding and technical knowledge by developing a mini project.
